What is Gypsy Tribal Belly Dance?
It is a fusion of Tribal Belly Dance styles that celebrates community spirit, drawing on the movements, costuming and general aesthetic tone of dances from places such as the Near East, Middle East, Africa/Maghreb and Spain.
It pays homage to the multi-cultural influences that helped shape Western Belly Dance, blending this diverse mix into a cohesive art form. A marriage between improvisational and choreographed dancing that is empowering, life-affirming; woman-beautiful, physically challenging, as well as spiritually and creatively energizing.
Gypsy Tribal Belly Dance is about empowerment of the dancers as they collectively dance as a tribe. A community of all ages and sizes, dancing with one another, for one another.
